About Pension

A retirement pension is a sum of money that is paid to a person when they reach a certain age or upon retirement from work. It is intended to provide financial security and stability during the individual's retirement years.

There are several types of retirement pensions, including:

Social Security: A federal insurance program that provides retirement, disability, and survivor benefits to eligible workers and their dependents in the United States.

Occupational pensions: Retirement plans sponsored by an employer for the benefit of their employees. These can be defined benefit plans, in which the employer promises a specific monthly benefit at retirement, or defined contribution plans, in which the employer and/or employee contribute a set amount to an individual retirement account (IRA) or 401(k).

Personal pensions: Individual retirement plans that an individual can set up and contribute to themselves.

State pensions: Retirement plans sponsored by a state government for the benefit of its employees.

It is important to plan for retirement and to consider saving for a pension in order to have a secure financial future. This can be done through a combination of personal savings, occupational pensions, and/or personal pensions.
